Fredonia, NY- The Alfred State men's swim and dive team ends day one of the Blue Devil Invite in fourth place with a score of 294.
To open to meet, the team of Parker Brod, Fred Ginder, Owen Baker, and Derek Mrachko notched a third-place finish in the 200 free relay after touching the wall in 1:29:77.
In the 500 free, two Pioneers earned a spot in the A-Final. Riley Hoyt was the first Pio to touch the wall with a time of 4:57.60 for fourth place, while Dominic Mintz came in eighth (5:06.95).
Mrachko also earned a spot in the A-Final of the 200 IM and would finish with a time of 2:08.19 to take eighth place.
In the 50 free, Brod was the first Pio to touch the wall to take fifth, 22.46. Ginder followed with a 22.64 to take sixth place.
The team of Brod, Hoyt, Mintz, and Ginder ended the day with a fourth-place finish in the 400-medley relay as they finished in 3:44.80.
The Pioneers will be back in the pool for day two of the Blue Devil Invite with prelims starting at 10 am.
