Balanced Attack Leads Lions

Shaulis first to defend point guard

Penn State Behrend used a balance attack as they defeated Alfred State 81-50 in the AMCC opener for both teams.

The Lions led 19-11 after the 1st quarter and 38-25 at the half. The Pioneers started the 3rd quarter fast and cut the lead to six, 42-36, but they would never get any closer. The Lions went on a big run to put the game out of reach.

Rayanna Anderson (Wellsville) led the Pioneers with 21 points. She also added six assists and four rebounds. Kelsey Shaulis (Ovid/South Seneca) added 12 points.

Six Lions finished with at least seven points. Kourtney Beamesderfer led the way with 16 points and nine boards while Ashley Seamon recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

The Pioneers return home on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. contest vs. D'Youville (please note new starting time).
