Alfred State freshmen swimmer Kathryn Lewis (Sanborn/Niagara Wheatfield) has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference female swimmer of the week.
Lewis had a big weekend as the Pioneers hosted a pair of events. In total, Lewis won four individual events and was part of two relays that took 1st place. Her performances helped the Pioneers to a 105-60 victory over Pitt Bradford and a 1st place finish out of five teams at the Pioneer Invitational.
On Friday evening vs. Bradford, Lewis won the 1,000 free in 12:05.39 and the 500 free in 5:48.37. She was also part of the 200 free relay team that won in 1:51.53.
She followed up that performance on Saturday by winning a pair of events. She won the 200 free in 2:09.53 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:20.93. Lewis was also part of the winning 200 free relay in 1:52.79.
Pitt Bradford's Ben Koss was named the male swimmer of the week while Franciscan's Sarah Tohill was named the diver of the week.
