Pioneers Swim Past Altoona

Diving off the blocks

The Alfred State men's swimming team won 11 of 14 events as they earned a 173-76 victory over Penn State Altoona on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers are now 1-1 in AMCC meets and 1-3 overall.

Tim Olin (Perry) and Ethan Dale (Lock Haven, PA) both won three individual events to lead the way. Olin won the 50 back (29.09), the 100 fly (1:00.05), and the 100 back (59.93) while Dale won the 50 breast (30.00), the 100 breast (1:05.68), and the 200 IM (2:11.41).

Austin Eckrich (Rochester/Churchville Chili) and Nate Miller (Gananda) each won two events. Eckrich won the 1,000 (11:20.37) and the 500 free (5:24.47) while Miller won the 100 fly (1:00.05) and the 100 free (55.20)

The Pioneers also took 1st in the 400 free as a team of Olin, Miller, Ryan Brophy (Midlakes), and Dale won in 3:40.08.

The Pioneers have a little time off before returning home on December 1st to host Cabrini.
