Houghton scored six 1st half goals en route to a 7-2 victory over Alfred State on Wednesday evening. The Highlanders improve to 9-2-3 on the year with the victory.
Ben Lawrence netted two goals and passed out two assists to lead Houghton while Andrew Bussey scored once and passed out three assists. Landon Sheaffer and Mitch Beattie both netted a pair as well.
Houghton held a 7-0 lead before the Pioneers picked up a pair of goals. Kory Zimmer (Livonia) scored in the 64th minute after getting a pass from Brian Markel (Arkport) and Tyler Landries (Genesee Valley) scored in the 79th minute after getting a pass from Noah Holmok (Alfred Almond).
The Highlanders held a 29 to 10 shot advantage in the game.
The Pioneers return to action next Tuesday for their regular season finale when they host Hilbert at 7 p.m.
