Alfred State junior basketball player Catherine Bialecki (Alfred Almond) and sophomore multi athlete Andrew Ruebenstahl (Washingtonville) have been named the Garcia's Barbershop Top Cut Athletes of the Week.
Bialecki scored 91 points, grabbed 43 rebounds, blocked 18 shots, and was credited with eight steals as the Pioneers finished 2-2 this past week. She scored 31 points and grabbed 11 boards in the win vs. Wells and had 28 points, 11 rebounds, and seven blocks in the victory over Central Penn. Versus Buffalo State she finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds, and seven blocks and had 14 points and nine rebounds versus Houghton. On the year she is averaging 20 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 4.1 blocks per game.
Ruebenstahl led a strong performance by the multi athletes at the Brockport Early Season Invitational. He finished 3rd with 3,621 points which is the 6th best performance in school history. He scored 603 points in the pole vault (3.95 m) and 583 points in the 60 m dash (7.92). Teammates Tim Berry (Midlakes) and Alex Brown (Wellsville) finished 4th and 6th respectively.
