Alfred State softball player Stormi Kruger (Medina), lacrosse player Aaron Buck (Churchville), and baseball player Kyle Kuzma (Waverly) have been named the #PioneerPinpoint athletes of the week. The trio had strong performances leading their teams to victory.
Kruger was 4 for 6 for the Lady Pioneers in their doubleheader split at SUNY Delhi on Sunday afternoon. She was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI in the opener and then was 3 for 4 with 6 RBI in the Alfred State 12-3 victory. In the nightcap, she collected a two run single, a two run triple, and a two run homer.
Buck led the lacrosse team with six goals and one assist in a 10-9 overtime victory over Franciscan on Saturday afternoon. Buck's sixth goal was the game winner, 24 seconds into the extra session. He leads the team with 34 points and is tied for the team lead with 21 goals.
Kuzma had a stellar performance out of the bullpen for the blue & gold in their 5-4, 11-inning victory over Houghton on Wednesday evening. Kuzma tossed eight innings allowed just five hits and one walk. He allowed one unearned run and struck out one to earn his first victory of the season.
